These aquariums shed light on the lively, mysterious and colorful world of the deep sea.

They reflect the diverse marine creatures living in our marine environment. It’s a captivating world revealing an incredible almost (100) species, including the beautiful clownfish, delicate seahorses, moray eels, sea rays and reef sharks. Contemplate the splendor of marine creatures of all sizes along the rocky shore and the coral reefs, and in the lagoons and the mangroves.

Sharjah Aquarium is the first and largest government educational center in the UAE. Covering an area of 6500 m²; it consists of two floors embracing 21 aquariums and filled with 1.8 million liters of water.

Sharjah Aquarium holds a turtle rehabilitation program, where the husbandry team collects and receives sick/injured sea turtles before releasing them back into the sea - their natural habitat - , after being rehabilitated. This highlights the role of Sharjah Aquarium in raising public awareness about the importance of preserving marine ecosystems including their wonderful creatures.

As part of the Sharjah Museums Authority’s social responsibility initiative “Because We Care”, Sharjah Aquarium is organizing an annual marine environment clean-up campaign which aims to raise environmental protection awareness and instill the values of preserving marine attractions. The campaign also aims to spread awareness about the dangers of marine pollution, which can result from the irresponsible behavior of some individuals.
