The Red Island is characterized by Ras Al-Khaimah with a proven history, as it is one of the last sites for ships to dive into pearls and marine navigation activities on this side of the Arabian Gulf, The island abandoned its inhabitants in the sixties of the last century and remained the same for many years, until the restoration work began and later became one of the attractive sites, and the Red Island was a tidal island until the seventies of the last century، It has been included in a major land reclamation project to become part of the mainland, and abandoned homes and paths on the Red Island have become a destination that arouses the curiosity of residents of neighboring areas. The region is currently witnessing a qualitative shift through the project to restore and rehabilitate the region to become a tourist and cultural shrine in addition to hosting the Ras Al-Khaimah Festival for Visual Arts in its sixth and seventh versions within one of its restored fortresses.
